Cassowary, Daintree National Park
The Cassowary is a very large flightless bird that is native to the humid rainforests, like the Daintree, in the northeastern part of Australia. They are recognisable by their large stature and their neck and head region is brightly coloured blue and red. These birds are quite shy but they do have the reputation for being quite dangerous to people so make sure you keep your distance if you stumble upon one in the rainforest.
