Finch Bay - Picture Tour

Finch Bay

You can find Finch Bay just a short drive or a decent walk (about 30 mins) from the main street of Cooktown. At the northern end of the beach lies a tumble of smooth boulders which can be fun to explore for the keen naturalist or photographer. At the southern end, the beach ends in a small creek that feeds down from the clearly visible Mt Cook to the south.

The Cooktown Botanic Gardens, also previously known as Queens Park, is located nearby and features Nature's Powerhouse. This is an Environment Interpretive Centre and Cooktown's accredited Visitor Information Centre, where you can learn more about the area, attend events and check out the gallery exhibitions regularly held here.
