Port Douglas by Road

It's a rather long drive if you are coming to Port Douglas from pretty much any major centre in Australia. Cairns is about 1700 km or 22 hours of driving north from Queensland's capital, Brisbane. From Cairns, Port Douglas is a short 70 km drive north along a sealed highway.

Cairns by Air

Cairns Airport boasts international, domestic and general aviation terminals. Flights are available from select international locations and from most major cities in Australia.

Cairns by Train

Queensland Rail offers two train services to Cairns though it's Traveltrain Holidays routes. The Sunlander travels 1681 km between Brisbane and Cairns three times per week. The total travel time is 31 hours and sleeping berths are available when travelling by Queenslander Class. The Tilt Train offers the same journey in just 24 hours with comfortable seats only.
