From the map below you can tell that Port Douglas is at the heart of Queensland's tropical far north. Whilst it isn't the biggest town it's geographical features are enviable with a close proximity to Palm Cove, Mossman and the Daintree Rainforest. It is also bordered by the Coral Sea and is the closest main town to the sights of the Great Barrier Reef. You'll notice further north of Port Douglas is Cooktown which is the northernmost town on the east coast of Australia.
